Friedrich Laub joined Kenyon and Kenyon as a Patent Agent and Legal Intern in 2007, and is based in the New York Office. Dr. Laub's practice focuses on patent prosecution and opinion work in the biological, biochemical and life science arts.
Dr. Laub received his M.S. and Doctoral degree in Molecular Biology from the Free University Berlin, Germany, in 1995 and 1999, respectively. He was awarded scholarships from the German Academic Exchange Service and the Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz Foundation to conduct his graduate school research at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.
Prior to entering the patent law field, Dr. Laub worked at the Japanese National Cancer Center in Tokyo, Japan, and the Hospital for Special Surgery/Cornell Medical Center, New York. He also worked briefly at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He was Adjunct Assistant Professor at this institution until 2007.
Dr. Laub's experience and publication record covers a wide variety of areas, including neuroscience, developmental biology, genetics, and immunology.
Dr. Laub attends New York Law School as an evening student and is expected to graduate in 2010.
Prior to joining Kenyon and Kenyon, Dr. Laub conducted patentability searches and wrote PCT Opinions and Search Reports for a Chicago law firm.
