Frederick Martinez Biography :

Fred's primary practice emphasizes defense litigation of individuals, professionals and corporations. His expertise ranges from the defense of national transportation companies, professional responsibility, general tort litigation and criminal defense. He is currently designated as National Counsel for the BNSF Railway Company. Fred was admitted to practice law in Colorado in 1987. Initially, he joined the State of Colorado Public Defender's Office. He managed all phases of an adult felony caseload, ranging from Class 1 to Class 6 felonies, including First Degree Murder. Additionally, he supervised attorneys and interns assigned to the Denver Juvenile Court. In 1993, Fred joined the Law Firm of Knudsen, Berkheimer, Richardson & Endacott and was made partner in 1997. In 1999, Fred joined Hall & Evans and is now a member of the firm. Fred obtained his Bachelor of Arts from the Colorado College in 1984 where he graduated with distinction. In 1987, he received his Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado School of Law. Fred is admitted before the State Court of Colorado, the State of Nebraska, the State of Wyoming, the United States District Court of Colorado and the United States Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit. He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Nebraska Bar Association, Wyoming Bar Association, Denver Bar Association, and the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel. Fred's current practice primarily revolves around railroad, trucking and transportation defense. Mr. Martinez also has considerable experience handling disciplinary matters before the Attorney Regulation Counsel and the Colorado Supreme Court. Additionally, acts as a Practice Monitor with the approval and request of Attorney Regulation Counsel. These duties include oversight, mentoring, monitoring and reporting an attorney’s compliance with the Presiding Disciplinary Judge’s Orders regarding the Conditional Admission to the Colorado State Bar. Based on this vast experience, he is a frequent lecturer regarding lawyer ethics, compliance, legal trends and the administrative process of disciplinary proceedings before the Colorado Supreme Court.
