Frederick Kuperberg, Executive Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs for Disney-ABC Cable Networks Group, is responsible for overseeing all legal and business affairs for the division's wholly-owned properties including ABC Family, Disney Channel, Toon Disney and SOAPnet. He has spearheaded the legal negotiations for the channels' programming efforts and affiliate contracts, as well as new media and broadband activities.
Mr. Kuperberg previously served as senior vice president, legal and business affairs for Disney Channel. Prior to his tenure at Disney Channel, Mr. Kuperberg was vice president, business and legal affairs at Group W Productions and served as director of legal and business affairs for Paramount Pictures Corporation. His first legal position in the entertainment industry was as resident counsel for the Writers Guild of America, West.
Before pursuing entertainment law, Mr. Kuperberg spent two years as Deputy Public Defender in the Los Angeles Public Defender’s Office. He started his career as an associate in the litigation department of the Los Angeles law firm Loeb and Loeb.
Mr. Kuperberg earned his J.D. from UCLA Law School. He also attended UCLA as an undergraduate where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Entertainment Law, and is a volunteer attorney at Bet Tzedek.
Based at the Burbank headquarters of Disney-ABC Cable Networks Group, Mr. Kuperberg is the father of two grown children and resides in Los Angeles with his wife. |
