Dr. Appelbaum has been Senior Vice President and Director of the Clinical Research Division at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC) since 1993. In 1998, he was named Head of the Division of Medical Oncology at the UW School of Medicine and Executive Director of the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. He is a diplomat on the American Boards of Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology as well as past chair of the Board of Scientific Advisors of the National Cancer Institute. Additionally, he serves as a Board Member for a number of scientific societies and is Chair of the Leukemia Committee of the Southwest Oncology Group. He received his undergraduate education at Dartmouth College and his M.D. from Tufts University School of Medicine. |
