H. Frederick Christie is a consultant, having retired in 1990 as president and chief executive officer of the Mission Group, responsible for the non-utility subsidiaries of SCEcorp, with assets exceeding $2 billion and earnings exceeding $100 million annually.
From 1984 to 1987, Mr. Christie served as president and a director of Southern California Edison Company. He joined the utility in 1957 as a financial analyst following completion of his undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California. He also received a master’s degree in management from the University of Southern California in 1964.
Mr. Christie is a director of 19 mutual funds under the Capital Research and Management Company, AECOM Technology Corporation (holding company for several architectural, engineering and construction companies), International House of Pancakes (IHOP), Ultramar Diamond Shamrock Corporation (refiner and marketer of petroleum products), and Ducommun, Incorporated (holding company for several commercial and defense companies).
He is a member of The California Club, and serves on the boards of the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History, University of Southern California's School of Policy Planning and Development, Chadwick School and Idyllwild School of Arts.
Prior community services include boards of The Music Center, Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce (Executive Committee), Occidental College, United Way (Vice Chairman), Southern California Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society (Chairman), and the Southern California Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. He has been a guest lecturer for New York University, University of Maryland, University of California Los Angeles, and Stanford Graduate School of Engineering.
Mr. Christie has served on the Southwest Water Company Board since 1996. |
