Mr. Fisher was one of the founders, and former CFO and Vice Chairman of U.S. Home Corporation, one of the nation's largest home builders, until his retirement in 1981. Since 1967, he has served over 30 years as a bank director for several different banks. He is currently a director of the Builders Insurance Group of Atlanta. His community and charitable activities have included service as a founder and benefactor of Clearwater for Youth, The Long Center, St. Paul's School, Phoenix House of Florida and Ruth Eckerd Hall. In 1985, he endowed the Fisher School of Accounting at the University of Florida. He has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors including the Bilgore and Liberty Bell Awards for Community Service and the Mr. Clearwater award, both an Honorary Doctorate and a Distinguished Alumnus award from the University of Florida and membership in the Tampa Bay Business Hall of Fame. |
