Frederick Davis, Jr. is a tax partner in the New York office of Mitchell & Titus, a member firm of
Ernst & Young Global Limited. He has over 14 years of public accounting experience specializing in public companies and entrepreneurial businesses. Fred leads operations for the firm's Commercial Tax Practice. He is a certified public accountant in New York and various other states.
Throughout his career, Fred has worked on tax engagements for commercial, entrepreneurial and not-for-profit organizations. He has served as the tax partner on numerous engagements for major consumer product conglomerates, insurance, banking, media and natural gas businesses. Many of his clients have been among the Fortune 1000. Internally, Fred advises the firm's Employee Benefit Plan Audit Group on tax and legislative changes that may affect their clients.
Prior to joining Mitchell & Titus, Fred served as a tax partner at former "Big Five" firm Arthur Andersen. He has a Juris Doctor from Rutgers School of Law, a Master of Science in Taxation from Long Island University, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Hofstra University. As an expert in his field, Fred has co-authored several articles for trade publications on various tax topics. His articles have been featured in The Journal of Bank Taxation, among others. Furthermore, Fred was also admitted to the Bar in New York and New Jersey.
Fred is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA). He is also a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and serves on its Financial Instruments and Financial Institution Committees. His external activities also include serving on the executive committee of the Hofstra University's Alumni Association and on the board of trustees for Vision of Hope, a New Jersey community-based not-for-profit organization. |
