Frederic H. Mayerson is the Chairman and Managing General Partner of The Walnut Group, a diversified private equity investment company, and for the last 20 years has been involved in a series of diversified ventures focusing on consumer goods, communications, restaurants, toys and juvenile products, and outsourcing and corporate services. In this connection, he has founded and/or acquired significant ownership in a number of companies, both public and private. Mr. Mayerson is the Principal of The Frederic H. Mayerson Group. He has also owned and/or managed extensive prime office and retail space and continues to be active in real estate development. Mr. Mayerson was Chairman of United Sports Ventures, which owned 3 minor league baseball and 4 hockey teams that won 6 league championships, and he has co-produced eight Tony Award-winning Broadway musicals. Throughout his career he has served on the Board of Directors of numerous companies, both public and private.
Mr. Mayerson is a graduate of Miami University and received his law degree from the University of Michigan, and practiced law in New York City. He is a member of various professional and charitable organizations, especially those concerning children and education, and is a guest lecturer at a number of universities and graduate schools. Mr. Mayerson's numerous affiliations include: Director of U.S. Bank Board of Advisors, Trustee of the Mayerson Foundation, Member of The League of American Theatres and Producers and The Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Board. He has run the Montreal Marathon, raced as a licensed NASCAR driver, and continues to enjoy and compete in a wide range of other sporting activities. |
