Dr. Fred Schwerer, with more than 40 years of experience, is a senior software Engineer at RJLG. In addition to management and administration responsibilities, he is a direct contributor to contracted and corporate projects to develop computer and web-based management systems for technical and instrument data, to design and conduct special materials characterization tests and to provide opinions on patent infringement. He coordinates the activities of a group of technical specialists performing R&D and analytical services under commercial and government contracts. Currently, his primary technical interests are development and improvement of laboratory information management systems, design and implementation of practical systems for technical image management, application of multi-media virtual reality methods to enhance presentation of analytical data and application of browser-compatible, internet technology to enable remote collaboration among materials characterization practitioners (tele-presence micro-analysis). Dr. Schwerer is a member of several organizations, including American Geophysical Union, American Society of Nondestructive Testing, American Physical Society, Association of Computing Machinery, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Society of Mining Engineers - AIME, Society of Petroleum Engineers - AIME, Phi Kappa Phi, Tau Beta Pi, Sigma Tau, Pi Mu Epsilon and Phi Eta Sigma. Dr. Schwerer is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania with a certificate in metallurgy. He holds several patents and has published in peer-reviewed literature. |
