Mr. Schoenhut, who has been a director since January 2007, is the former Chairman of the Board of Governors of the New York Board of Trade (NYBOT), the world's leading exchange for soft commodities and a wholly-owned subsidiary of ICE. In September 1980, Mr. Schoenhut formed Copia Trading Co., Ltd., a coffee futures execution firm on the Coffee, Sugar & Cocoa Exchange (CSCE) trading floor, which later became NYBOT. Mr. Schoenhut chaired the NYBOT Relocation Committee, which was responsible for finding the exchange a new home after its destruction in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Mr. Schoenhut first started working as an intern at the NYBOT during his summers and college vacations. He worked part-time for physical coffee broker and agent C. E. Bickford & Co., Inc., his father's business, where he later went on to become a full-time employee from 1979 to 1982. Mr. Schoenhut was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1956, and currently resides in Oyster Bay, Long Island. He attended Baldwin High School and later graduated from Clarkson University in 1978 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. |
