Fred S. Hubbell was a member of the Executive Board and Chairman of Insurance and Asset Management Americas for ING Group, a Netherlands-based banking, insurance and asset management company, and had served as an Executive Board Member from May 2000 through April 2006. Mr. Hubbell became Chairman of Insurance and Asset Management Americas in 2004 and was previously Chairman of the Executive Committees of the Americas and Asia/Pacific beginning in January 2000. Mr. Hubbell has also beenresponsible for National Netherlanden ING's largest Dutch insurance company, and ING's asset management operations throughout Europe since May 2004. Mr. Hubbell elected to retire from ING Group's Executive Board effective April 25, 2006 and has returned to the United States. From February 1999 until January 2000, Mr. Hubbell was a member of the Executive Committee of Financial Services International for ING Group and from October 1997 until February 1999, Mr. Hubbell served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the United States Life and Annuities Operations for ING Group. Mr. Hubbell was formerly Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Equitable of Iowa Companies, an insurance holding company, serving in his position as Chairman from May 1993 to October 1997, and as President and Chief Executive Officer from May 1989 to October 1997. Mr. Hubbell served in various capacities with Equitable of Iowa Companies since 1983, in addition to serving as Chairman of Younker's, a department store chain and subsidiary of Equitable of Iowa Companies, from 1985 until 1992, when the retail subsidiary was sold. Mr. Hubbell is also an attorney.
