Frank Johnson is senior vice president of energy operations for Consumers Energy the principal subsidiary of CMS Energy. He has overall responsibility for electric and natural gas delivery systems operation and maintenance including
natural gas storage.Johnson previously served as senior vice president of electric transmission and distribution for Consumers Energy and president and chief executive officer of CMS Energy’s international electric and gas distribution unit CMS Electric and Gas Co. In 1999 he was named vice president of CMS Electric and Gas. He was responsible for managing all operational and commercial activities of the company’s international utility assets. They include electric distribution systems in Argentina Brazil and Venezuela. Combined the companies provide electric service to more than 450 000 customers.In 1996 Johnson became vice president of energy distribution for CMS Electric and Gas and general manager of its EDEERSA electric distribution utility in Entre Rios Argentina. Before that he was executive manager of electric business
support regional general manager and district manager for Consumers Energy. After joining Consumers Energy in 1970 as a meter reader he held increasingly responsible positions in Pontiac Battle Creek Kalamazoo Lansing and Jackson offices.Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing management from Detroit College of Business and a master’s degree in management and supervision
from Central Michigan University.He is a board member and past chairman of the American Association of Blacks in Energy and chairman of the finance committee of Siena Heights University in Adrian Mich.While managing EDEERSA Johnson was named Business Man of the Year by Analisis Magazine a provincial magazine in
Entre Rios. Johnson and his wife Belinda have two grown sons and live in Ann Arbor Mich. |
