Frank Conklin’s grandfather, Patty Conklin, first opened his doors in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada on May 5th, 1927. Since that date, the Conklin Shows name has been synonymous with the Outdoor Amusement Business across North America.
Frank Conklin is the third generation involved with Conklin Shows and became active on the midway in the 1970s. Frank, born in 1959, started out moving the Show's newest and largest rides that had ever been presented in North America. He gradually advanced in managerial responsibilities until he took over Conklin Shows International. He rebuilt the American route in the 1980s and ’90s, until the Canadian and American operations of Conklin Shows became independent of each other. With the addition of several large fairs at the beginning and end of the season, the American circuit under Frank's direction had taken on a life of its own. In 1996 Jim Conklin retired and Frank took over Conklin Shows, retaining all of the show's personnel.
Under Frank's direction, Conklin Shows became the number #1 Midway operator in North America, a distinction Conklin Shows held for 15 straight years.
Frank is married to Jodi and has two children, Makyla and Mai-Brie. Frank and Conklin Shows are proud to be an integral part of North American Midway Entertainment. |
