Frank T. Sample joined VISICU in September 2001 as president and chief executive officer and as chairman of the company's board of directors. Mr. Sample has had a distinguished leadership career in both the healthcare informatics and technology sectors. Prior to joining VISICU, Mr. Sample served as President and CEO of VitalCom (Nasdaq:VCOM), a leader in state-of-the-art wireless patient monitoring technology, from 1997-2001 and then vice chairman of Data Critical (Nasdaq:DCCA) following its successful merger in 2001. Before joining VitalCom, Mr. Sample served as president and chief executive officer of Phamis, Inc., a provider of patient-focused electronic medical records, and as executive vice president of IDX Systems Corporation (Nasdaq: IDXC) following its merger with Phamis. Prior to joining Phamis, he held executive management positions at TRW, Inc., Information Systems & Services Division, and the Healthcare Services Group of Control Data Corporation. Mr. Sample holds a BA degree in Business Administration from Cleveland State University. |
