Frank is a Registered Patent Agent with a Ph.D. in Physical Organic Chemistry from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Before joining RatnerPrestia, Frank had over 19 years of experience in corporate R&D, including product and process development work in a variety of chemical-related technical areas and six years of technical project management and product commercialization work. Frank has significant experience in patent application drafting, and can expertly probe technical details of inventions in most technology areas to expand and more fully define their scope. He has experience in both small molecule and polymer technologies, and has written and/or prosecuted patent applications in areas as diverse as aluminosilicates, metalized films, powder coatings, lithographic printing plates, fluorination reagents, crystallization processes, carbon nanotube composites, and phase transfer catalyzed reactions. Frank's corporate R&D experience makes it easy for him to communicate with inventors; he understands their language and knows where they are coming from. He establishes a good rapport with the inventor, and thus is able to develop a deep and complete understanding of the invention. At the same time, his management experience gives him a company perspective, leading to well-crafted patent protection that supports the company's business strategy. Frank is also a co-chair of RatnerPrestia's Chemical / Biotech / Pharmaceuticals Group. |
