Francisco Fernández Sáinz is Chairman of the Board and CEO of EADS CASA, President of Airbus Military, and President of the Military Transport Aircraft Division of EADS. He is also a Member of the EADS Executive Committee and the EADS North America Board of Directors.
Fernández Sáinz has more than 30 years of experience with CASA, beginning his career in 1971 as a Stress Engineer in CASA’s Engineering Division. Between 1971 and 1973, he was involved in the preliminary design of both the CASA 401 and Europlane aircraft. He continued his work as a design engineer until 1975 when he became the Product Engineering Manager for the CASA C-212. Four years later, in 1979, he became the CN-235 Project Manager.
Fernández Sáinz was the Director of Development in CASA’s Technical Directorate from 1982 to 1984, after which he was made the Vice President of Engineering, a position he held until 1997, when he became the Executive Vice President of Programs at CASA. Prior to his most recent position, Fernández Sáinz served for two years as the General Manager of Airbus Espańa.
In 2002, Fernández Sáinz was appointed EADS CASA Chairman of the Board and CEO, Airbus Military President, and President of the Military Transport Aircraft Division.
Fernández Sáinz graduated from ICADE in Madrid with a Master's degree in Business Administration and is a senior Aeronautical Engineer. |
