Eugene Buff joined yet2.com in the summer of 2004, bringing substantial technical, consulting, and management experience to the company. His primary responsibilities include identification and management of projects for yet2.com clients on both technology licensing and technology acquisitions. Dr. Buff is also involved in developing and delivering other professional services that include market and technology assessments, portfolio analysis and valuations. He is an account manager for several Fortune 100 accounts. Prior to yet2.com, Dr. Buff worked 15 years in academic research (including over five years at Harvard Medical School affiliates) and six years in technology transfer and business consulting. He has substantial expertise in a wide variety of industries, including but not limited to healthcare, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, polymers and chemical manufacturing. Prior to his current role at yet2.com, Eugene has served as Chief Scientist and Vice President at Foresight Science & Technology, Inc., managing professional services, internal training and business development of the company. Dr. Buff also served as Project Director for SBIR commercialization assistance programs (for US EPA, US Department of Agriculture, US Department of Energy) and on major projects for universities, corporate and civilian agency accounts. Dr. Buff earned his Master degree in Biochemistry as well as his Medical Doctor degree from Russian State Medical University. He is also a Ph.D. in Genetics and is a coauthor of 12 papers in peer reviewed international journals. Eugene is an active member of the Licensing and Technology Transfer community and serves on the Editorial Board of the AUTM Journal as well as on several communication and training committees at AUTM and LES. |
