Construction Litigation
Eugene R. Commander is a member of the firm’s construction practice group and he has practiced construction and real estate law in Denver since 1981. His practice focuses primarily on the representation of contractors, while providing general counsel services that range from business or project planning and contract negotiations; mergers and acquisitions; construction delay, scope of work, and defective design and workmanship claims; mechanic’s lien foreclosure and bankruptcy proceedings; bonding, insurance, and reinsurance issues; professional malpractice, licensing, and disciplinary proceedings; and product liability, property damage, personal injury, and wrongful death claims. His experience includes international business transactions and related U.S. litigation.
Mr. Commander has represented owners and developers, design-builders, general contractors and subcontractors, architects and engineers, product and equipment manufacturers and suppliers, financial institutions, surety companies and insurance carriers, and homeowner and condominium associations. He litigates matters before state and federal courts, governmental agencies, arbitration panels, and alternative dispute resolution forums. He also serves as an arbitrator and mediator for construction and commercial proceedings administered by the American Arbitration Association.
