Gene Lewit joined the Packard Foundation in 1991. He is currently senior program manager for the Children, Families, and Communities (CFC) Program. Gene manages the Foundation’s efforts to bring health insurance to all children in California and across the nation. He also oversees evaluation activities in CFC, sits on the CFC management group, and is a member of the Foundation’s management committee and evaluation support team. Prior to joining the Foundation, Mr. Lewit was associate professor of medicine and community medicine, New Jersey Medical School, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
Gene has a bachelor’s degree from City College of New York and a Ph.D. in economics from City University of New York.
