Eugene M. (Gene) Weber is Managing Partner of San Francisco-based Weber Capital Management, LLC, a firm he founded in 1995. Weber Capital invests in mid to late stage ventures and micro-cap public companies. Since inception, the firm has managed investments with a cost of over $100 million, and currently oversees positions in 34 companies, nine of which are private. Weber Capital focuses on information technology, communications and healthcare, and its successful venture investments include Intertrust, Interwoven, Broadbase Software, Chordiant Software, Aclara Biosciences and 2Wire. The firm was an early public investor in Fusion Medical, Jupitermedia, Optical Coating Laboratory, Polycom, and Veritas Software. Mr. Weber graduated from Cornell University (BS, Electrical Engineering) and Wharton (MBA, Finance). He was formerly with the investment firm of Weiss, Peck & Greer, and with McKinsey & Company. |
