PAST PROJECTS
Modernization of a Fortran-based ingot tracking system utilizing today's newest .NET solutions. Erik's work included both the development of the graphical user interface as well as the back-end database engine providing information to the operator screens.
Upgrade of DOS-based network tracking system for a physical testing lab to versatile web screens. This system has helped the lab's computer management team considerably by centralizing support of the user interface to a single terminal server system.
Creation of a graphical analysis and reporting tool written in Excel VBA for plotting ultrasonic inspection data. This tool has helped the customer's process analysts to develop new quality control metrics in order to help operators make consistent evaluations of inspected plate.
Development and commissioning of a vibro-accoustic slag detection system for steel casting production centers worldwide. These systems improve steel quality of cast ingots by preventing the introduction of slag from the ladle and into the tundish.
Application development for Windows CE handhelds utilizing wireless database and file connectivity. This mobile environment has allowed the customer to take operations previously accomplished only on a desktop computer practically anywhere.
