As senior vice president of hardware licensing Eric Free is responsible for leading Macrovision's worldwide hardware licensing activities and expanding the company's relationships with hardware and consumer electronics manufacturing customers. Free joined Macrovision in 2001 in a corporate development role and has been instrumental in developing the company's business and strategic development activities. He has overseen patent development and licensing efforts led multiple acquisitions and asset purchases managed relationships with key strategic partners and championed Macrovision's move towards digital distribution and consumer electronics licensing. Free was promoted to his current position in January 2006.Prior to joining Macrovision Free headed business development for Electrifier Inc. a leading streaming media technology company. Additionally he has worked for several venture capital funds and has led engineering teams for a multinational professional services firm. Free holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from Duke University a Master's of Science in Engineering degree from Stanford University a Master's of Business Administration degree from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a Master of Arts degree concentrating in international affairs from Georgetown University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer. |
