Mr. Berg is a Shareholder in the Santa Barbara office of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck and a member of the firm’s Litigation Group. His practice involves a variety of complex litigation matters in both state and federal court. With nearly 20 years of litigation experience, Mr. Berg has focused his work on clients in business, real estate and complex commercial disputes. He has extensive experience working with both senior management and compliance departments of numerous public and private companies. Mr. Berg also represents commercial and residential property owners in a variety of disputes. Mr. Berg’s experience includes the representation of California property owners in high profile and complex coastal access disputes with the state. He has represented a utility company in federal court condemnation litigation and successfully represented Central Coast wineries in Federal Americans with Disability Act (ADA) litigation. Mr. Berg has also represented a nationally recognized agricultural company in shareholder litigation. He was appointed by court as the lead trial counsel for thousands of property owners in class action litigation involving improper lending practices. Mr. Berg successfully defended a nationally chartered financial institution in wrongful foreclosure litigation and successfully defended a trustee at trial in a multi-million-dollar family estate dispute. He has also represented commercial and residential property owners in land use, contract and disclosure matters. Throughout the course of his work, Mr. Berg has successfully argued cases in multiple state appellate and supreme courts. |
