Eric P. Gonchar practices all facets of real property law and institutional lending. He has extensive experience in commercial and residential transactional work, secured and unsecured lending, leasing of commercial premises inside and outside New York, representation of developers of real property and cooperative and condominium boards. He also has substantial experience in conversion of rental properties into cooperative ownership and the development of condominium buildings.
Mr. Gonchar has been handling residential sales and purchases for approximately 20 years. His offices customarily closes 30 to 40 transactions a month.
Mr. Gonchar represents clients in the acquisition, sale, financing and development of commercial, retail, industrial, hotel and residential properties. He represents cooperative and condominium sponsors, associations, boards and developers in refinancing, negotiations and general matters. Mr. Gonchar also represents sellers and purchasers of apartment buildings and businesses. He has worked closely with New York's largest developers in the construction of condominium developments and the conversion of properties into cooperative ownership and has drafted numerous offering plans
Mr. Gonchar represents lenders including banks, savings and loan associations, institutional lenders and borrowers in all formats of commercial and residential lending and financing including real estate based and asset based lending, construction, interim, bridge and permanent financing. He also represents these entities in the restructuring of loans and works closely with lenders and borrowers in evaluating alternative proposals to traditional default, foreclosure and bankruptcy remedies.
Mr. Gonchar's clients include landlords and tenants in connection with their respective property interests. He represents building owners in the leasing of their commercial, office and warehouse space, shopping centers and retail stores. He also represents individuals, corporations and businesses in the rental of office and retail space and restaurants. Mr. Gonchar also has substantial experience in the resolution of various financing issues to which such transactions arise.
In connection with Kane Kessler's representation of its real estate clients, Mr. Gonchar is available to negotiate and review architect, construction, contractor and broker agreements
Eric P. Gonchar is a graduate of St. John's University School of Law. He is a member of numerous professional organizations including the New York State Bar Association (Section of Real Property Law, Committee of Condos and Coops, Committee on Financing and Mortgages) and, the American Bar Association. Mr. Gonchar is frequently quoted in the New York Times Real Estate Section, The New York Post and New York Magazine. He has appeared on television on several occasions covering an assortment of real estate related topics. He has been a featured speaker at numerous programs for major lenders and realtors in New York and teaches at the New York University Real Estate Institute as well as the Real Estate Board of the State of New York. Mr. Gonchar also sits on the Board of Directors of his 275 unit cooperative apartment building. |
