Eric is a partner in our real estate department. He focuses his practice in the areas of land use regulation, zoning and municipal law. Eric regularly represents developers and property owners in a wide range of land use matters, including wetlands permitting, rezoning, special use permitting and historic preservation and variance proceedings. He is actively involved in groups and associations dedicated to the economic challenges, environmental concerns and municipal growth issues vital to community planning and land use permitting.
Representative Matters
Successfully defended challenges to a special use permit issued to an international corporation allowing it to develop and operate a 1,000 acre mining operation in Chatham County.
Successfully appealed a judgment denying the Town of Green Level the authority to extend its Extraterritorial Jurisdiction into Alamance County.
Obtained approval of a mixed-use master plan rezoning for infill development on 45 acre assemblage. The project includes approximately 1400 residential dwelling units, 450,000 square feet of retail and 1.3 million square feet of office.
