Eric J. Carlson, M.D., is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and Head-Neck Surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery/Otolaryngology, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Academy of Otolaryngology, and a Member of the American Medical Association. Dr. Carlson is licensed to practice medicine in Pennsylvania and California. After receiving an Honors B.A. in Biology/Chemistry at Cornell College, Iowa in 1971, he earned his M.D. from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in 1975. Dr. Carlson completed his residency in General Surgery at the University of Missouri Medical Center in 1976, and his residency in Otolaryngology at the Hospital University of Pennsylvania in 1981. Dr. Carlson served as Lieutenant in the Medical Corps of the Naval Reserve from 1976 to 1978, was promoted to Lieutenant Commander, and Honorably Discharged in 1986. For twenty years Dr. Carlson was in solo private practice of Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) and Head and Neck Surgery in Darby, Pennsylvania (1981-2001). His appointments included Chief of Division of ENT in 1981 at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, Darby, Pennsylvania; Attending Physician, Department of ENT in 1996 at Veterans Administration Hospital, Wilmington, Delaware; and Clinical Affiliate in 1981 at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In May 2001, Dr. Carlson elected to practice hair restoration surgery exclusively and affiliated with Bosley. He received his training from hair transplant pioneer L. Lee Bosley, M.D. and Edwin Suddleson, M.D., Assistant Medical Director of Bosley. |
