Eric A. Marziali is the President and CEO of United Abrasives, Inc., a leading manufacturer of abrasive products used in the welding, industrial, construction, and automotive sectors. United Abrasives is headquartered in Willimantic, Connecticut with offices in the U.S., Canada, Italy, Paris, London, and Spain. Mr. Marziali was a member of the Board of Directors of the Savings Bank of Manchester, Connecticut Bancshares, Inc. from 1998 until the company's acquisition by NewAlliance Bank in 2004. He is a former Chairman of the Yankee Chapter of the Young President's Organization (YPO). With the University of Connecticut, he endowed two full scholarships for both men and women athletes. He is also a Director for St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford and has been involved in many community organizations and local and national charities including Windham Hospital and Kingswood Oxford School.
Mr. Marziali joined the Board of Directors of Connecticut Bancshares in 1998. His term on the NewAlliance Board expires at the 2009 Annual Meeting of Shareholders.
