Erbin B. Keith is vice president of Regulatory Affairs for Sempra Energy, a San Diego-based Fortune 500 energy services holding company whose subsidiaries provide electricity, natural gas and value-added products and services. The Sempra Energy companies’ 13,500 employees serve more than 29 million consumers worldwide. In his current role, Keith is responsible for regulatory affairs for Sempra Energy. Prior to his current job, Keith was president of Sempra Energy Solutions, which offered commercial and industrial businesses energy outsourcing services. Keith was also senior vice president of Operations and Commercial Structuring at Sempra Energy Solutions, overseeing engineering, construction, performance measurement, facilities operations and maintenance, and gas and electricity commodity operations. Before joining Sempra Energy in 1998, Keith was a senior vice president and general counsel for the Way Companies, where he began in October 1994. Before that, he was an attorney in private practice in Texas. Keith is a licensed professional engineer and a licensed attorney in both Texas and California. He is a member of the Texas and California state bars. Keith was chosen as "Energy Professional of the Year" in 2001 by the Association of Energy Engineers, and was appointed to the Department of Energy’s first Federal Energy Management Advisory Committee that was set up by President Clinton in 2000. Keith has a law degree from South Texas College of Law and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas. |
