Emily E. Smith-Lee is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm's Boston office. As a member of the Trial Department, Emily's practice focuses on commercial, product liability and toxic tort litigation.
Emily has been a member of the Firm's national counsel team representing two phentermine manufacturers in the Fen-Phen litigation, as well as the team representing a producer and seller of a genetically modified corn seed that was the subject of 300 product recalls in 2000. Most recently, Emily has represented a major health care company in a substantial dispute arising out of the acquisition of a home health care company, litigation that has involved complex issues relating to asset-backed securitization, health care receivables, GAAP accounting and reliability and admissibility of non-scientific expert testimony under Daubert.
While in law school, Emily served as a member of the Boston College Law Review and was appointed a member of the Order of the Coif.
Emily is admitted to the Massachusetts bar, the District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
