Ellin Davtyan is a member of the firm's public law group. Prior to joining Meyers Nave, she served as an associate for a Pasadena law firm where she drafted motions, complaints and prepared pre-trial discovery. She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Dean Pregerson at the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles where she researched and drafted numerous tentative rulings on criminal and civil motions; wrote memoranda reviewing magistrate judges' reports and recommendations on habeas corpus petitions. Ellin earned her B.A. in political science and B.A. in Russian language and literature at the University of California, Irvine in 2000. She received her J.D. from Southwestern University School of law in 2005. While in law school, she served as a member of the Southwestern Law School Journal of Law and Trade in the Americas. Her note entitled Time to Strip Religious "Sanctuaries" of their Protective Blanket: The Effect of Freedom of Religion on Vicarious Liability and Negligence Claims Filed Against Catholic Church by Victims of Sexual Abuse in the United States and Canada (12 Sw. J.L. & Trade Am. 525) was recently published. Ellin was on the dean's list and served as president of the Armenian Law Student Association. Currently, Ellin chairs the Student Affairs Committee of the Armenian Bar Association. She is fluent in Russian and Armenian.Ellin is also admitted to practice law in U.S. District Court, Central District of California. |
