Ellen McClain joined Hearst-Argyle in September of 2004 as Vice President of Finance. Her duties encompass all aspects of corporate finance including banking investor relations financial reporting audit SEC compliance tax and strategic planning.
A veteran of the television business Ms. McClain began her career at Bank of New England and later Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce as a lender to radio and television broadcasters and cable multiple-system owners. After graduating from business school Ms. McClain spent eleven years at television station owner Granite Broadcasting Corporation a publicly traded owner of affiliates of the NBC CBS ABC WB and UPN networks reaching approximately 6% of U.S. television households.
While at Granite Ms. McClain served for nearly four years as chief financial officer and was involved in all aspects of corporate finance including acquisitions divestitures capital raising budgeting and investor relations.
Ms. McClain earned a Masters degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 1993 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Brown University in 1986. She served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters from 1999 to 2004. In 2006 she was elected to the board of directors of the Broadcast Cable Financial Management Association (BCFM). |
