Ellen Yankellow, B.S., PharmD, graduated from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy with honors in 1973. She enrolled in the first non-traditional PharmD class and graduated with her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree in 1996. Ellen has been an outstanding business and community leader since her initial graduation from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in 1973. Ellen’s list of professional and personal accomplishments is staggering: The following are a few highlights of Ellen’s career: Career History Completed the Non-Traditional PharmD program in 1996. One of the first 17 students to enter the program. This was accomplished while she worked full time, raised a family and served on multiple pharmacy committees. Managed a chain of supermarket pharmacies. She did everything from design, purchasing, hiring and filling prescriptions. Named Senior VP of PharMerica’s Correctional Division Established a Clinical Department that was the hallmark of the industry President and Partner of Y&S Pharmacy Services President and CEO of Correct Rx Pharmacy Services, Inc. Boards & Commissions Baltimore Pharmacist Association President Named the first woman to be president of the Baltimore Pharmacist Association. This in spite of the fact that she didn’t own her own pharmacy. This organization had always been primarily filled with retail store owners. But Ellen made her mark and avidly volunteered to work for the cause of independent owners. |
