Ms. Baker is a Consultant with Summit Blue Consulting focused on the renewables and energy efficiency business space. She has experience in distributed generation/renewable energy technologies and evaluation, Geographic Information System (GIS) analysis, survey and interview analysis, and building energy-use simulation modeling and engineering analysis. Since joining Summit Blue, Ms. Baker has played a key role in distributed generation, renewable energy, and demand side management projects. Recent projects include: Evaluating a statewide distributed generation program in California, focusing on reviewing an extensive database of project installations and the geography of the installed systems. Conducting the program assessment for New Jersey s renewable energy rebate program, which funds solar, wind and biomass technologies Completing on-site energy surveys for commercial and industrial customers in Colorado. Estimating the technical and economic potential and the levelized cost of energy for small wind in the state of Iowa. Providing analysis for a project which estimated the technical and economic potential for wind, solar PV, solar thermal, biomass, and geothermal projects in Imperial County, California. Conducting a demand side management and survey of technologies project, as well as a program plan for a residential HVAC program. Prior to joining Summit Blue, Ms. Baker gained experience at the International Finance Corporation as a short-term consultant where she created appraisal and supervision documents. At Stanford, she completed a research project targeting wind development in the Dakotas to investigate different methods for financing wind farm development, selling wind generated electricity, and integrating the electrical output into wholesale power markets. With the Stanford chapter of Engineers for a Sustainable World, Ms. Baker helped design a sustainable university in India. She has also worked on a project for the Natural Resources Defense Council creating emissions factors for modern flexible-fuel vehicles fueled by ethanol (E85). Ms. Baker earned a MS in the Atmosphere and Energy Master s Program within the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department from Stanford University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Biology from the University of Virginia. Ms. Baker is a certified Engineer-in-Training through the state of Virginia and a LEED Accredited Professional. |
