Beth Ward works with the employee benefits group. Her practice focuses on multiemployer pension plans, including withdrawal liability under the Multiemployer Pension Plans Amendments Act of 1980 (MPPAA), ERISA compliance and matters involving the creation and administration of employee welfare benefit plans and qualified retirement plans. Beth also counsels employers, plans, and plan fiduciaries in matters involving COBRA, HIPAA, and the requirements of the federal laws affecting employee benefits. She has developed policies and procedures required by ERISA, negotiated vendor agreements and has represented plans and plan fiduciaries in actions to enforce subrogation and reimbursement rights. Beth has written papers and employee benefits updates for the Illinois State Bar Association and is a contributing editor for the Illinois Employment Law Letter. Prior to its merger with Ford & Harrison, Beth was an associate at Matkov Salzman in Chicago. Earlier in her career, Beth served as in-house counsel for a national multi-employer fund. Beth is admitted to practice in Illinois and the Northern District of Illinois. She is also a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois Bar Association.
