Edward Fila has been the co-founder and head of marketing for Sonometric Health, Inc., co-founder and chairman of the board of Cardio-Risk, Inc., and co-founder and president of Longevity Corp. He had a private dental practice for 19 years. He attended Utah State, Montana State, and Brigham Young universities, and the University of Washington, where he earned a doctorate of dental surgery degree. He has trained as a facilitator for Covey Leadership Institute. He is currently enrolled in the Management Certificate Program at the University of Utah. In 1997, Fila started New Life, a nonprofit organization for at-risk youth. He has served in several volunteer positions, including co-chair of a conference on Standards and Accountability for the Utah Legislature; executive director of innovations in Education, a non-profit corporation with the purpose of improving public education through the introduction and implementation of innovative educational programs; and co-chair of a cooperative effort to develop and present to the Utah Legislature a request for $1 million to pilot several educational innovations in public schools. |
