Edward Dineen is senior vice president, Chemicals and Polymers, for Lyondell Chemical Company. This position encompasses the chemicals, polymers and acetyls businesses and Research and Development activities. He was appointed to this position in 2002, after serving as senior vice president, Intermediate & Performance Chemicals, and, before that, senior vice president, Urethanes & Performance Chemicals. He joined the company in July 1998 with Lyondell’s acquisition of ARCO Chemical, where he had been vice president, Performance Products & Development.
Dineen began his career with ARCO Chemical in 1977. He advanced through a number of positions in the Engineering; Environmental, Health and Safety; Manufacturing; Business Management and Financial functions.
In 1993, he was appointed vice president, Planning and Control, for ARCO Chemical European Operations, located in Maidenhead UK. In 1995, he became vice president, Worldwide Co-Products and Raw Materials.
Dineen serves on the board of directors of Spartech Corporation, a leading producer of engineered thermoplastic sheet materials, polymeric compounds and concentrates, and engineered product solutions.
A native of Queens, New York, Dineen received his bachelor's and master's degrees in chemical engineering from The Cooper Union and Princeton University, respectively. He also holds a Master of Science in management from Drexel University. |
