Edward G. Zacharias is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm's Boston office. He is a member of the Firm's Health Law Department. Edward focuses his practice on general health law matters and provides regulatory and transactional representation to health systems, academic medical centers, physician group practices, HMOs, faculty practice plans, nursing facilities and a variety of other health care clients. Edward represents clients in connection with acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic affiliations, conversions to tax exempt status, HIPAA compliance, fraud and abuse and Stark, reimbursement, licensing and other transactional and regulatory matters.
Edward holds a Master's degree in bioethics from Case Western Reserve University. He received his law degree from Boston University School of Law, where he served as the Editor-in-Chief of The American Journal of Law and Medicine and the president of the Health Law Association. During law school, Edward worked as a Policy Analyst Intern in the Office of the Commissioner at the Food and Drug Administration and was a summer associate in the health department of a Washington, D.C. law firm.
Edward is a member of the Boston Bar Association and the American Health Lawyers Association. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts.
