Ed Reitkopp is a senior counsel in the Cerritos office of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo. He has more than twenty years experience in labor and employment law, his chosen area of expertise. He has provided counsel both for agencies in the public sector and for Fortune 500 companies in the private sector. He has also served as a hearing officer for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Mr. Reitkopp focuses on the representation of public agencies in lawsuits, arbitrations, and administrative hearings. In that capacity, he has successfully represented numerous clients in such matters as employment discrimination and sexual harassment litigation, disciplinary hearings and litigation related to collective bargaining issues. He has also successfully engaged in both traditional and collaborative collective bargaining on behalf of public agency clients and is an experienced speaker on topics related to numerous labor and employment issues. Mr. Reitkopp served as in-house labor counsel for the National Broadcasting Company and the Lockheed Corporation, representing them in all facets of labor and employment law. He also served as counsel in a precedent-setting class action employment discrimination lawsuit involving the County of Los Angeles that was decided by the U.S. Supreme Court. As a hearing officer for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, he presided at administrative hearings to resolve allegations of employment discrimination brought by U.S. Government employees. |
