Ed Hubbard is Security Capital Assurance Ltd.’s (SCA) executive vice president financial guaranty insurance and president and chief operating officer of XL Capital Assurance Inc. (XLCA).
Mr. Hubbard is a member of XLCA’s founding leadership team and until May 2004 served as the company’s chief financial officer. In this role Mr. Hubbard recruited a team of experienced professionals built XLCA’s finance organization and helped develop the company’s capital structure. He was instrumental in XLCA’s achievement of triple-A ratings from the three major credit rating agencies.
Mr. Hubbard joined XLCA from MBIA Insurance Corporation where he managed asset-backed commercial paper and medium-term note vehicles with total securities outstanding of $8 billion. Previously Mr. Hubbard spent eight years at another financial guarantor Capital Markets Assurance Corporation (CapMAC) and was senior vice president and treasurer when MBIA acquired CapMAC in 1998. He began his career at The Federal Reserve Bank of New York later moving to Marine Midland Bank.
Mr. Hubbard is a member of XLCA’s credit and managing committees a director on XLCA’s Board and is a member of the Board’s executive and investment committees. He is also a director on the board of XL Financial Assurance. He serves as an officer and director of the Association of Financial Guaranty Insurers.
Mr. Hubbard graduated from Brown University with an A.B. in Mathematical Economics. He received an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania. |
