Edmond Ip is the Chief Operating Officer, North Asia, InterContinental Hotels Group.
As Chief Operating Officer, North Asia, Edmond oversees properties in Greater China (including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan), Korea, Japan and Micronesia for InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).
He is responsible for ensuring the smooth business operations as well as providing overall strategic direction and spearheads development initiatives for the InterContinental Hotels Group. He works with senior management across the hotels to ensure seamless service and superior hospitality standards, consistent with the world's most global hotel group.
Prior to his current position, Edmond was Senior Vice President for Development & Technical Services in Asia Pacific, where he was central in driving the group's acquisitions and investment interests in Australia and China. He was also Managing Director for Holiday Inn Worldwide in the Asia Pacific region, before integration of the group.
Edmond has been with the company since 1997, and is a veteran of the hospitality industry with twenty-nine years of experience in both finance and hotel management. He was the Executive Vice President, co-founding Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts His career within the hospitality industry included being the Executive Director of CDL Hotels Group and Vice President of Finance in Hyatt International. |
