Ed Eger is the Executive Vice President and Business Head for the International Cards division within the Global Consumer Group of Citi. He manages the strategy and business performance for Cards across 50 countries globally with an emphasis on growing the International Cards franchise, an important area for Citi's future organic growth.
Previously, Ed was in North American Cards, where most recently he ran the Office of the Chairman. Prior to this role, Ed was the Executive Vice President and Strategic Business Unit Head for the Value, Business, and Professional Segments within the Citi Brands Business of Citi Cards. In this capacity, he was responsible for driving the business results of the largest single portfolio within Citi Cards. In addition, he also oversaw the Strategic Planning and New Product Development, as well as managing the Puerto Rico business for Citi Cards.
Before joining N.A. Cards, Ed was the Regional Head of Payment Products for the Asia-Pacific region, which consisted of 14 businesses across 12 different countries spanning the region. Ed first joined Citi in 1999 to run the Cards business in Australia.
Ed's prior experiences included starting up and running cards and retail banking businesses in the US, Europe, and Asia, with Wells Fargo, Standard Chartered, and Advanta. He began his career in consulting, working at McKinsey & Co. and The Boston Consulting Group.
He holds a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Claremont McKenna College, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. |
