Eddy C. Agbo joined Cangen as Program Manager for Preclinical Operations. In this role, he oversees the development and management of ongoing preclinical studies, the translation of research to preclinical development and for guiding activities with external collaborators and contractors.
Dr Agbo joined Cangen from Johns Hopkins Medical School where he worked as a Research Scientist on the development and characterization of candidate biomarkers of infectivity using cutting-edge biochemistry and molecular biology techniques. Earlier in his career, he held research and product development positions at ID-Lelystad, Utrecht University, Wageningen University and Free University Amsterdam, in the Netherlands. He has over 14 years of direct biomedical research and molecular diagnostics product development experience, comprising 7 years in university research and over 7 years in industry. These include strong scientific and technical expertise in biomarker development and validation. He is the lead inventor on pending genotyping and biomarker detection patents, and author of numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications.
Dr Agbo holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from University of Ibadan, Nigeria, Master of Science (in Biotechnology) from Wageningen University, The Netherlands and PhD (in Molecular Genetics) from Utrecht University, The Netherlands. He also holds a graduate certificate in ‘Leadership and Management in the Life Sciences from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore MD. |
