Ed Thorn has completed hundreds of telecom and cable TV M&A deals for clients in the US, Caribbean, Latin America and Europe. His interests range from traditional communications technologies to VoIP, WiMax, IPTV and new digital media.
Earlier, he was Director of M&A for the international law firm Cremades, Calvo-Sotelo based in Madrid. Before that, he co-founded Worldport Communications, a Holland-based fixed-line operator subsequently sold to Energis for over $500 million. He began his career by founding Cable Properties, a cable TV M&A advisory. His clients have included AT&T Latin America, GTE (now Verizon), TCI, Advent, TeleKabel, US Cable Group, Sevillana de Electricidad, All America Cable and Radio, Cable TV Dominicana, Sierra Telephone Group and Teleconnect.
Ed earned an AB in History with a minor in Communications from the University of California, Berkeley where he also studied communications law at Boalt Hall School of Law. He is fluent in Spanish. |
