As Co-Chairman of MMI Hotel Group/Dining Systems, the career of Earle F. Jones spans nearly half a century in the hospitality industry. His full time devotion is to the company’s southeastern U.S. interests, including the 19 hotels owned or operated by MMI Hotel Group and the over 100 food service contracts managed by MMI Dining Systems.A native of California and a Certified Hotel Administrator, Jones is a graduate of UCLA and Harvard Business School. He has been associated with MMI and its hotels since the organization's beginning in 1956, with the opening of MMI’s first property and the nation’s twenty-first Holiday Inn franchise in Meridian, MS where Jones served as the hotel’s General Manager. He has remained consistently involved in the affairs of the International Association of Holiday Inns, chairing the committee that developed the Holidex Reservation System. He is a past president of the International Association of Holiday Inns and was elected to an unprecedented second term on its Board of Directors in 1976. Jones served nine years on the Board of Educational Institute of the American Hotel and Lodging Association and remains a member of the AH&LA’s Governmental Affairs Committee.Mr. Jones combines a busy business career with a wide range of charitable and civic interests. He has served on the boards of the Jackson (MS) Public School District, the St. Joseph’s Catholic School, the Catholic Foundation, the Arts Alliance, MIssissippi Opera Association and others. Currently he is a commissioner on the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority, and a member of the Board of Trustees of Millsaps College. |
