E.J. "Ned" Holland, Jr. is senior vice president of Human Resources for Embarq Corporation. This new NYSE-listed company has approximately 20,000 employees and operates in 18 states offering voice, data, high speed internet, wireless and entertainment services to over 5 million customers. In his position, Holland is responsible for human resources, which includes employee and labor relations, talent management, compensation and benefits, employee experience, corporate security, and real estate. Prior to being named to EMBARQ, Holland was vice president - Compensation, Benefits, Labor and Employee Relations for Sprint. Holland joined Sprint in 1999 as assistant vice president Corporate Benefits. Prior to joining Sprint, Holland was senior vice president, Chief Administrative Officer and Corporate Secretary for Payless Cashways, Inc. He also was a managing partner and co-chairman of the health law practice group of the Kansas City law firm of Spencer, Fane, Britt & Browne.
