Mr. Crompton has been executive director, KCMC Child Development for 23 years. Under Mr. Crompton's leadership, KCMC has grown from a small, struggling program to include Head Start, Child and Adult Care Food Programs, Early Head Start, and private-public sector child-care partnerships.
Mr. Crompton serves as president of the Governing Board of the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition and on the Advisory Committee of the National Black Child Development Institute. Mr. Crompton is past president of the Housing and Economic Development Financial Corporation of Kansas City, past president of the Board of Curators of Lincoln University and a member of the Board of Directors of the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Crompton has published several articles on issues affecting children and families, and is frequently called to give testimony on child-care legislation pending before local, state and federal government bodies. |
