Douglas S. Peters is a consultant to the health field. In 2002, he retired after serving for a decade as the President and CEO of the Jefferson Health System in Philadelphia. During his career, Mr. Peters has served in senior executive positions with the Blue Cross & Blue Shield Association; Henry Ford Health System; University of Nebraska Medical Center, and the University of Michigan Medical Center. He was in the Navy Medical Service Corps during the Vietnam War. Mr. Peters is a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives, and a life member of the Katahdin Medical and Philosophical Society. He is also a member of the Philadelphia Contributionship. In addition, he is an advisor to the MedAssets and the Hill-Rom Company. During his career, Mr. Peters served on the faculties of the Graduate Programs in Health Management at the University of Nebraska’s College of Medicine and the University of Michigan. He is the author or co-author of over twenty articles, chapters and essays related to the field of health management. Mr. Peters has an undergraduate degree in business administration from Ohio State University, and a master’s degree in hospital administration from the University of Michigan. |
