Douglas Crane is chairman of the Foundation for Educational Achievement, an organization that operates three accredited polytechnic colleges, an alternative high school that serves as a college preparatory institution, a division training the handicapped for independent living and workplace success, and a division providing educational assessment for various state and local governments throughout the U.S. Previously, he served as chairman of EMCON, a 1,000-person environmental engineering and remediation company, which he successfully merged with another public company in 2002. Before that, Mr. Crane was a management consultant working as an interim CEO with Frox, developer of multimedia entertainment systems; Mechatronics, factory automation simulators; Expertware, a systems and software engineering company; and Telaire Systems, designers of infrared detection services. He has also served as president of Altus Corporation, Bendix Automotive, and Coleman Instruments. Mr. Crane holds a BA degree in economics from Goddard College and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He also attended Stanford Advanced Management College and received his credential as a Certified Financial Planner from the University of California at Santa Cruz. |
