Douglas L. Davis is vice president of the Digital Enterprise Group and general manager of the Communications Infrastructure Group (CIG) for Intel Corporation. He is responsible for Intel's business in the communications infrastructure and embedded market segments. Specifically, CIG is a key player in the communications industry's move to modular building blocks, broad adoption of the embedded Intel® architecture, transition to merchant market network processors through the Intel® Internet Exchange Architecture (Intel® IXA), and the rapid transition to 10G optical interconnects. CIG is also instrumental in expanding the number and scope of embedded applications using the Intel architecture products.
Davis joined Intel in 1984 as a product engineer in the Military Division. He went on to manage product engineering, manufacturing and operations for this division. During his tenure at Intel, Davis served in a variety of management positions including a role overseeing manufacturing operations for the Access and Switching Group (ASG). He has held general manager positions for the embedded 80186, 80386 and 80486 product lines, the Embedded Microcomputer Division and Network Processor Division. Prior to his current position, he was general manager for the Infrastructure Processor Division. He became a vice president in 2003.
Davis earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from New Mexico State University in 1983, and his MBA from Arizona State University in 1991. |
