Douglas E. Lahammer is a partner in the firm’s real estate department. Mr. Lahammer specializes in real estate finance (conduit, permanent, construction, bridge, mezzanine and leasehold loans) and mortgage loan securitization. He has closed and supervised the closing of well over 1,000 commercial mortgage loans. His experience also includes loan modifications and workouts, loan assumptions, loan purchases and sales, acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, leasing and real estate taxation.
The real estate lending clients he has represented include Morgan Stanley Mortgage Capital Inc., Nomura Credit & Capital, JP Morgan Chase Bank, CharterMac Mortgage Capital, Citigroup Global Markets, GMAC Commercial Mortgage Corporation and FINOVA Realty Capital.
Mr. Lahammer is a Fellow in the American College of Mortgage Attorneys. In 2004, he was named a Rising Star in Real Estate Law by Law & Politics and Los Angeles Magazine.
Mr. Lahammer received his J.D., cum laude, in 1989 from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he was an associate editor of and published in the Minnesota Law Review. In 1986, he received his bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Minnesota, where he majored in political science and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
Mr. Lahammer was admitted to practice in 1990 by the State Bar of California and is a member of the real estate section of the State Bar of California.
